Creating a Modern Brand for a Commercial Construction Company

Client: Southern Construction

There’s something amazing about watching a building go from blueprints to the real deal. Every nail. Every piece of wood. It’s all worth it when you walk through the door for the first time. The same goes for building a website. The only difference: our blueprints are a good strategy and a good wireframe.

For Southern Construction, a commercial construction company that specializes in new construction and renovation projects, they were looking for a more modern website and branding.

The team at Communify built a new website and did branding work for my construction company.  I cannot say enough about my excellent experience with them. From start to finish, the whole team was creative, experienced, helpful and efficient. My company now has a fresh new look and a new website that communicates our services effectively.

Owner, Jennifer Wilson, Southern Construction

The problem was their old site was attracting clients looking for residential construction, not commercial construction. With this knowledge, we devised a new strategy, giving them a core brand identity to show off the work they do now, and plan on doing in the future. By focusing their homepage with the main goal of increasing qualified new client inquiries, we were able to streamline their site and their messaging to better suit their vision.

Although Southern Construction had built a solid reputation for quality construction in the Greater New Orleans area, their identity was not strong and consistent. The brand needed to reflect their industry leadership in a strong, innovative and dynamic approach.

After brainstorming several different approaches we chose to depict a structural formation of the letters ‘S’ and ‘C’. The overall hexagonal configuration also lends itself to the industrial shape of a bolt. The logo that we created is powerful and abstract, with depth and dimension – all attributes that describe Southern Construction. We also created a matching business card design, on-site signage and more.
