Ahead of New Orleans hosting Super Bowl LIX in 2025, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation opened an RFP inviting local creatives to design a Host Committee brand package that captures the spirit of the city.
We designed a logo that marries two cultural cornerstones in New Orleans: music and football. The drum is the foundational element of the logo: we hear and feel the drums first when a parade or second line is coming. The drum in our logo is tilted as though being carried by a band member marching down the street.
The dots across the top of the drum represent the 11 Super Bowls hosted in New Orleans (including LIX), while the hash marks on the drum’s center circle represent the eight Super Bowls that will have been played in the Superdome. The top of the circle represents both the Dome and a football.
Our agency was chosen from a pool of 21 agencies, and our official logo was unveiled to the public at the Caesars Superdome during the GNOSF Honors Luncheon. In addition to the logo, we also developed branded helmets, print and digital letterheads, business cards and a photo backdrop.
